Legacy of Savile Row - the world's most famous suiting street

In the late 18th century, the 3rd Earl of Burlington paid tribute to his wife, Dorothy Savile, by naming a London street in her honour, Savile Row. What began as a humble residential street soon took on a distinguished identity when the first bespoke tailors set up shop in 1803. Word of their craftsmanship spread, and Savile Row rapidly established itself as the premier destination for Britain's aristocracy, landed gentry, and the newly wealthy of the Industrial Age. 

For +200 years Savile Row has been creating luxury bespoke tailoring, serving the rich and famous from royalty to film starts, from musicians to celebrities.

    In January 1969, The Beatles performed their final public concert on the rooftop of 3 Savile Row. What began as a lunchtime surprise became one of the most iconic moments in music history, echoing over the rooftops of London from the heart of the tailoring world.

  • OUT OF THIS WORLD


    Following their return from the Apollo 15 mission, NASA astronauts made their way to Savile Row to get new custom tailored suits. The precision and craftsmanship found here were sought after even by those who had just returned from the Moon.
